Gregory Moye, 61

Gregory Moye, 61, of New Haven, CT entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

He was the loving and devoted husband of forty-one years to Deborah McGraw Moye of New Haven, CT.

Gregory was born on July 2, 1954 in Greenville, NC, son of the late Thomas Moye, Jr. and Mary Eliza Johnson Moye. He was educated in North Carolina and New Haven Public Schools. Gregory was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for many years as a Machinist. Upon his departure from Pratt & Whitney, driven by a strong work ethic, he had several employers and ultimately retired years later. Gregory met and married his lifelong companion, Deborah McGraw Moye and out of that union four children were born; Dennis, Gregory, Jr., Jerris and Tiffany. Gregory was an avid fisherman and he had many hobbies that provided the opportunity to involve his family. It also presented many teachable moments that will continue to live on throughout his legacy. His children and grandchildren loved him passionately.

Gregory leaves to cherish his memory; three sons, Dennis Moye and Gregory Moye, Jr. of New Haven, CT and Jerris Moye (Crystal) of Hamden, CT; a daughter Tiffany Moye of New Haven, CT; thirteen grandchildren, Denise, Cherie, Denniyisa, Dennis Jr., Jayla, Jai-Quan, Jerris Jr., Jayden, Aamiya, Kania, Ronazia, Kayla and Deaya; two great grandchildren, Tristan and Mason; one brother Thomas Earl Moye (Alice ) of New Haven, CT; seven sisters, Betty Gay-Foster (Nathaniel) and Mary Blount (James) of Hamden, CT, Peggy and Dorothy Moye of New Haven, CT, Patricia Moye-Hill (Vincent) and Brenette Miller (Michael) of Meriden, CT and Joann Moye of Farmville, NC; one and only very special uncle, Alex Moye (Alma) of Ayden, NC; a very loving mother-in-law Dorothy McGraw of New Haven, CT; five sister-in-laws, Alice and Renee Moye of New Haven, CT, Rose Williamson (Manuel) and Crystal O’Brien (Robert) of West Haven, CT and Janet Flynn (Mike) of Southington, CT; two brother-in-laws, Mark McGraw (Gail) of Hamden, CT and Michael McGraw of New Haven, CT; a god-daughter Shanika Brantley of Hamden, CT; a god-brother Raymond E. Jones of Portsmouth, VA; a special niece Shamika Ridley of New Haven, CT; special friend McArthur Coleman and Greg’s most treasured Pooch, Tim. He also leaves a plethora of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family. In addition to his parents, Gregory was predeceased by a brother Donald Moye and a sister Myrtle Rice. A Celebration of his life will take place on Friday December 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Temple C.O.G.I.C; 285 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven, CT 06511 with visitation Friday at the Church from 9:00 – 11:00 AM. Interment is at Beaverdale Memorial Park. Services by Howard K.
