On Feb. 4 at 12:15 a.m., Harriet Elizabeth Clarke peacefully left this life and was called to a permanent heavenly home. She was born in Providence, R.I., on Feb. 24, 1923.
Harriet was the loving daughter of Reverend Isaiah Alexander McCoy and Pinkie Mignonette Harper. Preceding her in death were her sisters Lois, Ruth, Gladys, and Elaine, and an older brother, Colonel Isaiah Jr. She leaves to mourn a loving husband, Leo G. Clarke Jr.; three sons, Leo III, George and Ronald; 18 grand children; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Alice G. McKenzie; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. at Bethel AME Church, 255 Goffe St., New Haven. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 – 11 a.m. Interment will be Feb. 14 at Middletown State Veterans Cemetery at 10 a.m.
