Helen Butler, 81

Helen Butler, 81, of New Haven, passed away Oct. 5, 2016.

She was born in Abbeville, S.C. to the late Roscoe Johnson and Emma Morton Booker on July 11, 1935. She worked as an assembler for many years at Winchester Repeating Arms. Helen was a devoted member of Varick A.M.E Zion Church for over 40 years. She was also a member of the Young Women of Varick organization and served as a missionary for many years.

Helen leaves to cherish her memory, son, Tony Butler; daughter, Myra Butler; and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Butler; and brother, Edward Morton.

A celebration of life will take place Oct. 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Varick Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, 242 Dixwell Ave, New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will be at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven, CT. Services by Howard K.
