Howard Batchelor

Howard Batchelor, 81, of New Haven, departed this life January 10, 2011.
Born in Enfield, NC, May 29, 1929, he was the son of the late Henry M.T. and Sarah Batchelor.
Prior to retiring, he was employed at E&F Construction Company as a Foreman for 35 years. Mr. Batchelor was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his daughter, Monica Bowden; grandchildren, Raul “Duke” Velazquez, Tonisha Foster and Tylon Bostic; a brother, Linwood Batchelor; his companion, Lucy June Boomer and her granddaughter, Lucy “Little Lucy” Boomer; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by a son, Tony O’Neal; three brothers and a sister.
A celebration of Mr. Batchelor’s life and legacy will be held Friday, January 14, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Viewing and visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Online guestbook available at www.curvinkcouncil.com
