Jean Wilder

Jean Nana” Wilson Wilder, born October 9, 1929 in Glen Cove, New York, transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, August 20, 2010. She was raised in Yonkers, New York by a loving uncle and aunt, David & Emily Wilson. Jean relocated to New Haven, CT in 1948 and two years later was joined in holy matrimony to Robert J. Wilder, Jr. She worked at Yale New Haven Hospital for a number of years prior to receiving an LPN certification in 1971. Jean retired from St. Raphael’s Hospital after 25 years of service as a Surgical Nurse. During her rich life, Jean enjoyed extensive traveling and reading. Jean is predeceased by Robert J. Wilder, Jr. and is survived by their three sons: Kevin, Keith, Glen and one daughter, Brenda Wilder. Also mourning her home going are three beloved sisters: Thomasenia Riggs, Nancy Sanchez and Muriele Sissy” Harris. Jean was very proud to share her life with seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by a host of family, friends and acquaintances. A celebration of her life will take place Friday August 27, 2010 11AM at Varick A M E Zion Church, 242 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 – 11 AM. Interment will be at Mt. St. Benedict, Bloomfield, CT. Services by Howard K.
