Jesse Carter, 87, of New Haven, passed away June 2. He was born in Camden, S.C., to the late Louis and Luella Carter.
He was employed until his retirement at Kings Furniture store in New Haven as a warehouse supervisor.
He leaves to cherish his memory: brother Jerry Carter of Washington, DC; sister Mary Carter of Jacksonville, Fla.; nephews Joseph (Nellie) Clyde Watkins of Middletown, Kenneth James (Nancy) Watkins of Algonquin, Ill., and Ralph Edward (Tracy) Watkins of New Haven; niece Tishena Scott of New Haven; and a host of great nephews and great nieces. He was also predeceased by 15 other siblings.
A celebration of his life will take place on Wednesday, June 8, at 10 a.m. at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel St. New Haven. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 – 10 a.m. Interment will be in Hamden Plains.
