Katherine Pugh

Katherine McMiller Pugh was born on May 25, 1923 in Newark, NJ. Born to the late Edward and Mary McMiller. It was during an annual conference which was being held in New Haven in September 1949, she meet a handsome young man by the name of Claude Pugh. They fell in love and married October 1950. They were happily married for 23 years until the Lord called her husband, Claude home to rest. Katherine was called from labor to reward on Friday January 7, 2011 at the Virginia Anne Grimes Nursing Center. She leaves to cherish her precious memory; sisters, Ruby McMiller Steele and Lucille McMiller Danzey; brother, Fletcher Bass (Debra); adopted children, Georgianna and Mike Moran; her Pastor and First Lady Bishop Robert J. and Lady Ethel T. Gay, St. Matthew’s Church Family and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday January 14, 2011 at 11AM at St. Matthew’s, 400 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven, CT. Friends may call on Friday at the church from 9 – 11AM.
