Merle Spiegel, 88, died Tuesday April 26, 2016 at the Mary Wade Home in New Haven.
She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Spiegel.
Active in the Jewish community, Merle for years tended with dedication and care the library at the Jewish Community Center.
Merle was born in Salem, MA. On January 5,1928 and was a daughter of the late Isaac and Rebecca –Rachel(Kramer) Shapiro. Beloved mother of Carmi ( Rachel) Spiegel of Merrick, NY, Ori (Debra) Spiegel of New Haven. Loving sister of Charney Reichbart of Long Beach, NY. Cherished Grandmother of Ariel, Abby & Zohar. Funeral Services will be held in B’nai Jacob Memorial Park, 200 Wintergreen Ave. New Haven Wednesday at 1 p.m. under the care of Robert E. Shure Funeral Home, 543 George St. New Haven. A Period of Mourning will be held after the funeral until 8 pm. then Thursday thru Saturday from 12 until 8 pm. at the family’s home in Woodbridge.
