Rankin Miller, Jr. was born November 24, 1957, to the late Rankin Miller and Ruby Eubanks Miller-Moore of New Haven.
He graduated from Wilbur Cross High School of New Haven in 1975. He worked for the Gas Company and Housing Authority of New Haven for many years. Everyone that knew Rankin or Junior, as we called him, knew him as a social person. His comedic attitude always turned a negative situation into something positive. All who knew Rankin will greatly miss his warmth, passion and outgoing personality. Junior never hesitated to come to the defense of all those who were treated cruelly by life and deserved better; in times of need he was always ready to support those who needed him. He had a great love for his son, granddaughter, nieces and nephews; showering them with gifts. Junior was full of life, energy, and joy, and many who knew him would call him an ” entertainer.” He missed his true calling as a comedian and doing what he did best which was making people laugh. He is survived by one child: Lamar Miller, of West Haven; one daughter-in law: Tiffany Coleman-Miller of West Haven; one granddaughter: Tatiana Miller of New Haven, CT; one great granddaughter: two sisters: Doreen Ramsey, of Torrance, CT, Sheila Carr of Hamden, CT; one brother: Derrick Miller of West Haven, CT; two brother-in laws: Jimmie Ramsey and Dennis Carr; one sister-in law Karen Miller , a host of family and friends.

A celebration of his life will take place Monday, May 21, 2012 at 11AM at Pitts Chapel UFWB Church, 64 Brewster Street, New Haven, CT 06511. Calling hours at the church on Monday from 10 – 11AM.
