Ronald Lewis Hobson Ron”, age 62, transitioned to Glory on January 27, 2016.

Ron was born on November 6, 1953, in New Haven to Gladys (Williams) Hobson and the late Harold Hobson. Ronnie was married to the beautiful Christine (Kershaw) Hobson.

In addition to his wife, Ron leaves behind his loving family including his two sisters, Sharon Hobson and Patricia Hobson Thomas; four brothers, Randall Hobson, John (Sandra) Hobson, Rodney Hobson and David Britto. His daughters Tarsha (Dennis) Wright-McCoy and Ronnae Williams of GA; one son Chaz Reddick. His two grandchildren, Reorn Jones Jr. and Chyrrish Reddick; one great granddaughter Trinity Jones; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, William Hobson and Marc Hobson and a sister Laurie Hobson.

Ron worked for the New Haven Police Department for 28 years as a 911 operator/police dispatcher and also served as the Union President for Local 884, for 10 years. Many would remember Ron as the Smoothest” guy around town with an outstanding smile. Ron touched the hearts and lives of many during his short time here, with his charming personality and strong presence with the community.

A Celebration of Life” will take place at Beulah Heights First Pentecostal Church, 781 Orchard St., in New Haven, Friday, February 5, 2016 at 12 noon. The viewing hours will be from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m., Elks service will be from 11:30 – 12.
