Roy Thomas Paca, 59

Roy Thomas Paca, husband of Marva Howard-Paca was born in Baltimore, Maryland, April 29, 1956 to Ms. Lois Paca- Lewis and Dave Paca.

Tommy or Pac” as he was affectionately called, graduated from Hamden High school in 1974. After high school, he attended SCSU and interned as a campus deejay.

In 1975 Roy warmly welcomed his first daughter, Belinda Paca, into this world. Three years later, Roy met and later married Mary Lynne Rucker. Over their 18 year relationship, they produced three wonderful children, Marcus, James and Asia, all of whom reside in the New Haven area. 

For years, Tommy worked as a chef in numerous restaurants and hotels in the greater New Haven area, as well as security officer for the New Haven Public Schools district. With the spirit of an entrepreneur, Tommy started a successful security company, Security Network Services. 

In his spare time, he volunteered as Cub Scout master at Lincoln Bassett elementary school and loved to take his children fishing. In addition to his love for fishing, he loved sports. Tommy was an avid UConn sports fan and adored players like Scott Burrell and Chris Smith.

In 2002, Roy moved to Annapolis, Maryland, and married the former Marva Howard. While in Maryland, Roy continued his successful security company until his death.

Roy Thomas Paca loved to fish and eat bushels of crabs with his family. Tommy had a great sense of humor and is remembered by his grandchildren as being very comforting during times of sadness. He was a master cook and his family and friends loved to embrace his astute culinary artistry.

To cherish his memory, Roy Thomas Paca leaves his mother, Lois Lewis, of North Haven, brother, Mark Paca of New Haven, and sister, Veronica Paca of Charlotte, N.C. Children, Belinda Paca, of Charlotte, N.C., Marcus (Mendi) Paca, James Paca and Asia (Jason) Paca-Goubourn, all of New Haven. He also leaves step children, Romir King, Jacqueline, Charles and Julian. Also, grandchildren, Khalil Chloe, Zoren, Leah, Kaylah, and Joshua.
