Samuel Jones, 86, of Pond St., New Haven, CT entered eternal rest February 4, 2014.
He was born to the late Conrad IV and Lessie (Johnson) Jones on April 22, 1927 in Franklin County, NC. Mr. Jones enjoyed detailing and working on cars, hunting, fishing, the NY Yankees and his loving family. He worked for the New Haven Housing Authority for 33 years. He leaves to cherish his memory; devoted wife of 55 years, Peggy King Jones; sons, Samuel R., Gregory, Jeffrey Jones and Conrad Jones V; daughters, Kelli Jones, Jacqueline Reid (Ronald); sister, Bernice J. Ghist of NC; sister-in-law, Helen K Dear; 19 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by one brother Conrad Jones Sr, sister-in-law, Jean K Willoughby. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 7pm at St Matthews Unison Free Will 400 Dixwell Avenue New Haven, CT 06511. Calling hours will be Tuesday at the church from 5 – 7pm. Interment will take place at Lessie Jones Memorial Park, Nashville, NC. Services by Howard K.
