Selina Mae Fair of New Haven departed this life on February 7, 2016.
She was the daughter of the late James and Rosa (Lee) Fair, Sr. Selina attended the New Haven public schools, she also has a Bachelor’s degree from Western CT State University and attended Southern University’s Master’s program.
Selina worked as a Special Education teacher for New Haven public school system, Juvenile Detention Center and the New Haven Register. She enjoyed reading, playing scrabble, spades and journaling in her spare time. Selina enjoyed spending time with her family and she always spoke proudly of their accomplishments. She is survived by one daughter, Sabrena John of New Haven; three sisters, Barbara Fair of West Haven, Roseann (Brady) Watts of Hamden, Cynthia Thompson of New Haven; two brothers, Harvey Fair of Florida and Timothy (Geraldine) Fair of Hartford; two grandchildren Shekia and Marlon John; one great grandchild Amari John and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and a special friend Louis Young whom will dearly miss her. Selina’s most valued treasure was her great grandson Amari, whom she declared her “best friend in the whole world.” She is predeceased by a sister Terrie Allen and brother James Fair, Jr. Funeral services will be held at the St. Paul’s U.A.C., 150 Dwight St., New Haven, CT on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 8:30am.
