Susie M. Evans, 80, of New Haven, passed away April 19, 2017.
She was born in Greenville, N.C. to the late Roscoe and Susanne Blount King on Aug. 29, 1936. She worked as a baker for Lender’s Bagels and was a member of St. Mary’s U.F.W.B. Church, New Haven.
Susie leaves to cherish her memory, sons, William (Barbara) Wilkes, Jr., Jimmie Evans, Marvin (Renatta) Evans, and Min. Paul Evans; daughters, Lillie Mae Wilkes, Elaine Wilkes, and Pauline Evans; 32 grandchildren; 54 grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Lee Barfield, Jr.
A celebration of life will take place Friday at 11 a.m. at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 255 Goffe St, New Haven, CT 06511.
