Theodore Duff, 89, of New Haven, CT born on November 19, 1926 in Gastonia, NC to the late Johnie Grier and Beadie (Crawford) Duff, entered eternal rest July 6, 2016 at Hamden Healthcare Center.
He joined the U.S. Navy during WWII and received an honorable discharge. He later worked at Branch Motor Express in Orange, CT as a Diesel Mechanic until his retirement.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory four daughters; Arnita, Jacqueline, Charlene (Jack) Ludd all of Baltimore, MD, Vanessa (Henry) Jones of Worchester, MA, sister Mrs. Dezerea (Novel Lee) Howard, caretaker Ella Smith, step-children; Corris, David, and Dana Smith all of New Haven and Marlano, Sr. (Felicia) Smith of GA, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. He is predeceased by two sisters Mrs. Margaret Guthrie and Mrs. Florence Nealy, 4 brothers; Mr. Arthur, Mr. Edward, Mr. James Cornelius, and Mr. Napolean Duff, one son Theodore Duff, Jr., and one grandson.
A celebration of his life will take place Friday July 15, 2016 at 11 AM at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services; 1287 Chapel St., New Haven, CT 06511 with calling hours from 10 – 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Beaverdale Memorial Park; New Haven, CT.
