Theodore Holmes

Theodore Holmes, Sr., 80 of Hamden passed away June 5, 2010. Son of the late James A. Holmes and Flossie Badger, Theodore was born in New Haven, CT February 26, 1930. He graduated from Boardman Trade School. Theodore will be most remembered as a man with a great sense of humor, a loving father, grandfather and family man, quiet and a hard worker. Commonly known as Homie,” Ted coached for the Walter Pop Smith Football league in the mid 60’s, Director of St. Luke’s Drill Team and Director of Newhallville Recreation Center. He leaves to cherish his memory; sons, Theodore (Veronica-Nedab) of West Haven and Craig R. Holmes, Sr. (Dawn) of Hamden; brothers, Ronald Holmes (Patricia) of New Haven; sister, Betty Jones of MD; 5 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Holmes and brother, James A. Holmes, Jr. A celebration of his life will be held Monday, June 14, 2010 at 11 AM at St. Paul UAME Church, 115 Dwight Street New Haven. Friends may call Monday at the church from 9 – 11 AM. Interment will take place in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. Services by Howard K.
