Theodore Lucas

091009_TheodoreLucas.jpgAfter 74 years, Theodore Roosevelt Lucas went home to the Lord Sunday, September 6, 2009. He was the son of his late parents, Tony and Beulah Lucas. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve Lucas of Sanford, NC. While Theodore and family relocated from Olivia, NC they resided in Hamden, CT most of his life. He became a New Haven Police Department police officer then advanced to become a well-respected CT State Trooper, from which he retired after 20 years of public service. Among family, he leaves behind his son, Richard Lucas of West Haven, CT, his daughter, Cheryl Smith of Hamden, CT; 6 grandchildren, Tamara Lucas and Latia Smith Dunlap both of NC, Joelle Smith, David Lucas, Jovar Smith and Ronnie Smith all of Hamden, CT and 3 great-grand children. Services for Theodore R. Lucas will be held at Love Grove AME Zion Church, 796 Love Grove Church Rd, Sanford, NC 27332 and will be followed by an Interment at Lee Memorial Gardens 2600 Hawkins Ave, Sanford, NC 27330.
