Theodore Roosevelt Hines, Sr., 89

Theodore Roosevelt Hines, Sr., 89, of New Haven; born April 13, 1926 in Wilson, NC to the late Robert Hines and Alberta Newsome, went home to be with the Lord on November 19, 2015.

He had been self-employed at TR Hines & Sons Paving and Construction as well as The Hines Family Restaurant before his retirement. Mr. Hines enjoyed fishing, baseball and cooking and was a fan of the music of James Brown and BB King. Theodore was the oldest of thirteen siblings. He leaves to cherish his memory; sons Theodore (Debbie) Hines, Jr., Leonard (Romona) Hines, Ronnie (Cynthia) Hines and Jonnie (Jacklyn) Hines; daughters Linda Hines, Ola Yvonne Spann, Barbara (Roy) Richardson and Roberta Hines; brothers Walter Hines, Frank Hines and Willie Thomas Hines; sisters Ruth Wilson and Hattie Parker ; 16 grandchildren; 2 godsons and a host of family and friends. Along with his parents, He was predeceased by his beloved wife Beatrice McNeil Hines, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. A Celebration of his Life will take place on Saturday November 28, 2015 at 9:00 AM at Bible Gospel Center; 143 Leader Hill Dr., Hamden, CT. 06517 with visitation on Saturday at the Center from 8:00 am – 9:00 AM. Interment will be at Beaverdale Memorial Park in New Haven. Services by Howard K.
