Wilbert “Ski-Bo” James, 68, of New Haven, passed away on December 21, 2010. Born to the late Wilbert Sr. & Marie Ruth James in Florence, SC on January 7, 1942. He leaves to cherish his memory; sons, John (Delencia) James of Cleveland Heights, OH, Melvin Poindexter of Fort Dix, NJ, Darrin & Torrence James, Xavier (Marie) Poindexter, all of New Haven, CT, Keith (Sonya) James of Albemarle, NC; daughters, Baenita (Fred Graves) James of Cleveland, OH, Ashley James of New Haven, CT, Dawn Johnson (Lasalle) and Cherlyn Poindexter of Hamden, CT; sisters, Beatrice Taylor, Virginia James, Betty James, Gladys Moses, Lillie James all of Florence, SC, and Mary Archie Graves of Spartenburg, SC; brothers, George & Melvin James both of Florence, SC, Leroy Rick James of New Haven, CT; 31 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Wilbert was predeceased by wife Lottie Poindexter James and daughter Deidre Poindexter. A celebration of his life will take place on Thursday December 30, 2010 at 11AM at Union Temple Baptist Church, 54 Platt Street, New Haven, CT, 06511. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9 – 11AM. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
