Wilson D. Acevedo, 80

Wilson D. Acevedo, 80, of 850 Mix Ave., Hamden passed away Jan. 6, 2017.

He was married for 59 years to the late Carmen A. Acevedo (Rivera). He was born in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico to the late Juan Acevedo and the late Josefa Ortiz on April 11, 1936. Wilson lived in New Haven for the past 40 years and was a devoted member of 1st Star of Jacob Church. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Rockbestos and Winchester Repeating Arms. He also was a radio deejay for Radio Amor.

Wilson is survived by his daughters, Vivian (Ricardo) Acevedo-Rivas and Carmen (Glen) Bauschke; grandchildren, Arthur Alvarado, Melisa Alvarado, Stephanie Rivas, and Samantha Rivas; great-grandchild, Kady Alvarado; nine siblings; and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Wilson Acevedo; and grandson, Xavier Acevedo.
