Alchemy Club faces a one-day suspension of its liquor license following a state investigation into underaged drinking.
The club at 239 Crown St. downtown agreed to pay $500 and not to sell liquor on July 11, in order to settle state charges that it had sold alcohol to a minor, had a minor in a barroom and had not properly sealed containers.
The club was the site of an infamous incident in 2010 in which the police SWAT team arrested several Yale students, who complained of police abuse. The city owns the building. After years of problems, the city began to invoke its rights as landlord to address rowdiness at the building.
Hey not write about how the city is evicting alchemy or that they haven't paid the city rent in over a year. Seems like the violation is small potato's.
