Jaime Polite Passes

The New Haven firefighters union Thursday shared the news that firefighter Jaime Polite passed away from pancreatic cancer:

It is with a very heavy heart that Local 825 announces that Jaime Polite passed away early this morning. Taken from Scotte Pullen: “Jaime Polite lost his battle with cancer earlier this morning. He fought it in a respectful & dignified way. He knew it was almost time & his love for family he needed to be home with his wife & kids & make sure they’re ok before he went to see The Lord, even called his Pastor to pray over him yesterday, Great Man up until his final moments here.”

As more information becomes available we will forward it to our members. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

It is a sad day in the New Haven Fire Department. My friend and co-worker Jaime has gone to be with the Lord. As his Captain since 2011 it has been a pure joy working with Jaime. "Swagga" as he was known to his friends wore the same smile each and every day. He truly cared about people and about the job he did for the residents of New Haven with pride,integrity and dignity. My prayers go out to his amazing wife Denise and his beautiful children. May God give you the strength to carry on. Jaime was a man of many talents and many suits. We will always remember the great suits from the Sample Shop, hat and cane included. My favorite was a purple suit which made him look like Barney... he wore his suits like no other. Lets not forget that he was also an actor and a member of the Screen Actors Guild. If you watch closely you can see him in American Gangster with Denzel Washington. That being said his greatest joy were his kids and being a father and husband. Jaime also served our country proudly in the Iraq War with the Air Force. He will be truly missed but never forgotten. My condolences to his entire family.
