After 32 years, the Hamden Police Department announced Wednesday that it has arrested a 52-year-old New Haven man suspected of murdering a father and son in 1987.
On Aug. 21, 1987, Fred Harris and his son Gregory Harris were killed in their 655 Fitch St. home in Hamden.
“The Hamden Police Department has continued to investigate this heinous crime for over 32 years,” the department wrote in a press release.
The suspect was charged with two counts of murder, and was arraigned at Meriden Superior Court on Wednesday. He is being detained on a $2 million bond.
