Bill Clinton Will
Attend Wilbur Cross

They call Wilbur Cross High School students the Governors” — but on Sunday a former president and would-be future senator will take center stage.

The former president, Bill Clinton, plans to headline an 11 a.m. rally at the New Haven high school for the campaign of fellow Yale Law alum Dick Blumenthal. Blumenthal is the Democratic candidate for Connecticut’s open U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Chris Dodd.

Blumenthal seems prouder of this visit than he was at the limited-press-avail fundraiser Barack Obama held for his campaign in Stamford last week. Blumenthal practically apologized for Obama’s visit and emphasized that he disagrees with Obama’s economic policies.

Here, by contrast, is what Blumenthal wrote to supporters inviting them to Sunday’s Clinton visit:

President Clinton knows a thing or two about turning around a bad economy, and a thing or two about a tough fight. That’s why I am so honored to announce that he will be our special guest at a rally for me on Sunday, September 26th.”
