The Boys & Girls Club has received a $25,000 grant from Comcast to boost its efforts to connect members to the internet.

The grant supports the lift zone” at the Columbus Avenue youth center, connecting kids for free to the web for homework, online research and skill development, and staying in touch with friends and family.

Mayor Justin Elicker visited the club Wednesday afternoon for a tour and a ceremony celebrating the receipt of the $25,000 grant.

You just walk through the halls here and you see why the club is getting the kind of support you are,” Elicker remarked. It’s inspiring.”
