My hopes that the victim of the shooting at Cody’s Diner recovers and that the shooter is caught.
It’s not the first time that a late night shooting or fight happened outside of Cody’s. While we need late night eateries for second and third shift workers, they should have security workers from the time around when the clubs and bars close until the drunk and rowdy are home for the night, and before the early morning workers shifts start.

Does the NHI have sensationize every story concerning the ET Grasso Blvd. Obviously the drive of the car was clearly at fault. As far as the other accident let's wait until the Police report is released before any speculations are made.

mmrmike1, the fact that the driver was ejected from his car strongly suggests that he was not wearing his seat belt. But we don’t know the specifics of the crash, e.g. whether the truck had made a sudden stop.

4sq., the Boulevard is a “stroad”, a wide, relatively high speed route running alongside housing. These routes have a disproportionate number of crashes, including those that cause injuries and fatalities. I suspect State Street, which runs a half block from my house, carries a similar amount of traffic as Boulevard does. But it has fewer injury and fatal crashes, in part because it is narrower for most of its length.
