Registrar of Voters data

Mayor Justin Elicker won a total of 10,064 votes, or 79.7 percent of all of the votes cast in this year’s mayoral election, according to the official tally published by the Registrar of Voters office.

That’s according to a final spreadsheet sent out by email on Tuesday by Democratic Registrar of Voters Shannel Evans and Republican Registrar Marlene Napolitano.

The official tally closes the books on the Nov. 7 general election, which saw Elicker, the Democratic and Working Families Party nominee for mayor, handily defeat Republican and Independent Party challenger Tom Goldenberg and unaffiliated petition candidate Wendy Hamilton to win a third term in office.

Since 13,058 of the city’s 53,200 eligible voters cast ballots during the general election, that means total turnout was around 24.5 percent.

According to the final tally, Elicker won 10,064 votes, or 79.7 percent, Goldenberg won 2,322 votes, or 18.4 percent, Hamilton won 235 votes, or 1.86 percent, and write-in candidate Roger Uihlein won 2 votes, or 0.02 percent.

The final tally also shows that the charter-revision question prevailed with a total of 6,986 yes” votes, or 63.6 percent, to 3,990 no” votes, or 36.4 percent.
