Elicker Pulls In $117K

I'm sure the Harp campaign will say that with more time, they could've matched Elicker. That math doesn't add up. Looks like Justin is here to compete maybe the political elite will take him seriously.

Elicker and Bernie show that a candidate can appeal directly to the people to fund a campaign and they do not have to sell their souls to wealthy donors, special interests and PACs.

"The Elicker campaign did not release the names of its latest donors, Campaign Manager Gage Frank told the Independent those details are not yet ready for release." Hmmm...I wonder why?

There was a big brouhaha by some of these same commenters when Harp had a fundraiser in Avon, CT. Many questioned why she wasn't receiving her donations from NH only. Well, we'll see if all of Elicker's donors are from NH. I'll try and retrieve the critics comments of the Avon fundraiser and repost their common hypocrisy.

But to Elicker's credit, that report was impressive.

Brian: $48K in matching grants would mean 800 donations of $30 from New Haven residents. That's not particularly impressive considering 130K people in the city, but is consider only about 11K voted in the last mayoral election. If the donations were of lesser amounts, the number of donors, would, of course, be higher.

1644: to clarify, the donations were $117,000 from 737 people - an average of $159 each. The additional matching is what comes from the Democracy Fund.

Lookout: I thought the Democracy Fund made a 2 for one match up to $30?

When it's discovered that a large portion of Elicker's donors are from outside of NH, I want to hear from the likes of Bill and the gang expressing a level of displeasure about that. And how he should send the money back.

@BrianJenkins: the question is how many contributors to each campaign are developers or people who do business with the City of New Haven.
The Democracy Fund money is citizen funded and no more than $370 per donor.
We're still waiting for Harp's last incomplete filing.

Undoubtedly, both candidates Harp and Elicker will have some financial contributions from people who live outside of the city.
There are many former New Haven residents who are deeply concerned about New Haven and its welfare. These people, who may work here or may still own property here, have a right to make investments within the law to promote and support financially and otherwise, the candidate they feel will best serve New Haven.
Both candidates will release the names of their contributors if they intend to be transparent and compliant with any election policies requiring them to do so.

Nice try Thomas. But I'm afraid that that cunning move just won't work with me. If one didn't know better, they would read your comments and think that the outside people who contributed to Elicker's campaign were former New Haveners. I call that a preemptive strike. If you're gonna pitch a ball in the future, pitch a curve ball, you just might succeed in throwing an actual strike.
