Hamden’s transfer station will reopen on Wednesday after being closed for over a month, Hamden Mayor Curt Leng announced Tuesday evening.

In a Tuesday press release, Leng announced that the station would reopen Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7:30 – 11:30 and 12:30 – 3. The station has been closed since March 12, when Hamden closed all town facilities to the public.

New restrictions at the Transfer Station have been put in place to ensure the safety of Hamden staff and residents throughout the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic,” the press release stated. Hamden residents utilizing the transfer station will be asked to wait in queue” until the previous resident has finished dropping their refuse. This will cause some additional wait time, and the Town asks residents to be patient with the process.”

Drivers will also have to present their Connecticut licenses through the window to be able to drop stuff off.
