Hopkins Head To Move On

Hopkins School has launched a national search for a successor to Kai Bynum, who announced he will resign as head of school at the close of the 2021 – 2022 academic year.

Bynum has served as head of school since 2016.

The 719-student, grade 7 – 12 private school in Westville has been around since … 1660. (Not a typo.)

Bynum’s next job will be as head of school for another private educational institution, the 5 – 12 grade Lakeside School, in his hometown of Seattle.

A Hopkins release Tuesday stated that in his time at Hopkins, Bynum led the school through many important milestones: the launch and execution of the 360 Strategic Plan, the development of important diversity and equity initiatives, the management of the school’s virtual learning programs through the pandemic, increasing the endowment and financial aid, and further energizing the school’s vibrant student body.”
