Claire Criscuolo, a daughter of New Haven’s Wooster Square, has been making, and cooking up, history at the corner of College and Chapel streets for over 30 years through her Claire’s Corner Copia. Next month she’ll get her just historical desserts (double‑s intended).

Connecticut’s Italian-American Historical Society plans to give Criscuolo (pictured) and former Hamden Mayor Peter VIllano the group’s 24th annual Distinguished Service Award. That’ll happen Sunday April 28 at an annual dinner in Meriden. For more info call event co-chairs Diane Bucciero at 203 – 483-1292 or Laura Parisi at 203 – 294-4455.
