Look Who Dropped In

Cruegas in his temporary home, the WNHH studio.

The newest fixture in WNHH radio’s studio is also the oldest. And he’s not staying long.

At least we hope not. We hope you’ll adopt him — and support public-interest not-for-profit grassroots community journalism and radio in the process.

Think of him as your potential little tax deduction.

His name appears to be Cruegas M. Ehleder, as far as well can tell.

He’s a bronze statute dating back to the late 19th century. An anonymous supporter of WNHH radio inherited him, and donated him to us.

According to a pre-auction confirmation: by Bonhams of New York City, this Austrian patinated bronze figure of the Pugilist Creugas M. Ehleder, after Canova late 19th century,” is worth between $1,500 and $2,500.

As much as we’re growing fond of the guy, we’d rather have someone donate money to us in return for taking him home. Consider this the commencement of an auction.

Interested?
