A man was found dead Tuesday at the water’s edge at Lighthouse Point Park beach.
Emergency workers arrived at the scene and found the man by the boat ramp around 12:45 p.m.
The police are leading the investigation into the incident.
The man, identified as 66-year-old Richard Piccione of Woodbridge, “was fully clothed” and appeared to “have had a fall by the water’s edge or a medical emergency,” reported city emergency management chief Rick Fontana, who was at the scene alongside police, firefighters, and an ambulance crew. “He was not in the water for very long.”
