Room For All” Mayoral Candidate Forum To Take Place Thursday

Why’s the rent so damn high? And what on earth should the mayor do about it?

Those questions might be asked — maybe not in those exact words — at a mayoral candidate forum that the Room for All coalition will be hosting on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Albertus Magnus College’s Hubert Campus Center at 831 Winchester Ave.

The forum will focus on housing and jobs, and will bring together all four Democrats competing for the party’s nomination in the Sept. 12 primary: two-term incumbent Mayor Justin Elicker, former legal aid attorney and Room for All Coalition member Liam Brennan, retired police sergeant Shafiq Abdussabur, and ex-McKinsey consultant Tom Goldenberg.

Also slated to participate in the forum will be two independent candidates competing in the Nov. 7 general election: Mayce Torres and Wendy Hamilton.

See above for an English language version of the flyer advertising the event, and see below for a Spanish language version of that same flyer. Click here, here, here and here for articles about previous Democratic mayoral candidate forums that have taken place so far this municipal election year.
