A former leader at New York-Presbyterian is headed to New Haven to serve as the next president of Yale New Haven Hospital.
Yale New Haven Health (YNHH) has appointed Dr. Katherine Heilpern (pictured above) to the position overseeing the system’s flagship hospital beginning on March 11.
“After an extensive search, Dr. Heilpern was selected due in part to her prior experience as both a health system executive and academic chair at highly respected health systems,” YNHH wrote in a Thursday press release.
Heilpern previously worked as the Chief of the Office of Provider Professionalism at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
One can only imagine the size of her pay package. I mean "imagine" literally. A look at what those YNHH administrators get paid will dispel any wonder you may have at the size of your hospital bills. I always chuckle when I get a fundraising solicitation from YNHH as I place it in the recycling. "Yeah I'm going to contribute to your administrators' outsize compensation". Sen. Chuck Grassley with whom I agree about nothing else has it right when it comes to hospitals. Non-profit....I think not......plenty of people making some significant profit.
