Nothing beats a champion typo-catcher — except two champions!
The Independent recently mugged — that is, crowned — two such champions.
Typo-catchers Debbie Elkin (142 typos caught) and Mindi Englart (109) rose to the top of the rankings in the most recent round of the Independent’s competition among eagle-eyed readers. They spotted more typos than any others. Each earned a New Haven Independent mug.
Elkin, who works for the Yale library system, said she plans to drink Roma — a hot instant beverage made from roasted grains — out of her mug.
