1 Critical After Crash

Two young people were ejected from a vehicle and ended up in the hospital after a crash in West Rock.

Police responded to the scene of the crash — the intersection of Wilmot Road and Brookside Avenue — at 7:24 p.m. Saturday.

Here’s what happened, according to police spokesman Capt. Anthony Duff:

A vehicle with five people inside — who were all between 17 and 21 years old — was turning onto Brookside. A second vehicle hit the car; the impact ejec ted two occupants of the first vehicle.

The cops found the pair in the road.

The second vehicle was at the scene, empty. Witnesses told police two people fled on foot from that vehicle,” Duff rote in a release.

The two victims are in the hospital, one in critical condition. The department’s Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigation. Police ask anyone with information to call (203) 946‑6316. (Update: Capt. Duff reported Monday afternoon that both patients are now in stable condition.)
