The Quinnipiac East Management Team, inspired by Rodney Williams and others in the community, received a donation that made it possible to purchase masks from Mr. Williams' Face Mask Store and donate them to children at the Jepson school.
Why does it fall on individual efforts to supply children and families with masks?
If we are requiring children and teachers to return to school, why aren't we giving them the items they need to remain safe?

The NHPS has waited to do in person learning until almost a year went by, now vaccines will be available to us soon. Why can't they wait just a little longer until the teachers, front line and essential workers (many who are higher risk low income and black and brown persons,) elderly and co-morbidity high risk individuals from phase 1B get their first and second doses of the vaccine? The new covid variants are much more contagious, and may be more deadly, and are infecting more children. The more opportunities the virus has to mutate, the more likely a deadlier variant that would kill people more rapidly at higher rates could emerge. We need to keep everyone from passing the virus around until the most vulnerable can get their vaccine doses and we can get closer to herd immunity.

Vaccinate the teachers. Why the city and state has not expedited this is beyond me.

Not enough vaccines and teachers probably will not get vaccinated until the late summer the earliest based on how slow the vaccine process is going currently.

Teacher4newhaven- I don't think anybody thinks it wasn't a bad thing that a teacher got mugged at gunpoint, I think everyone is just so overwhelmed at the amount of muggings, carjackings and other violent crimes in the area that they didn't know quite what to say. I know I read it and I got upset, but I wasn't sure what I could write that would make a difference. Something has to be done to help prevent violence instead of just reacting to it after the fact.
