Blango Draws Lesson
From Parking Choice

On first thought, Newhallville Alderman Charles Blango believed he had a good reason for beaching his silver Lincoln Navigator in an illegal parking spot.

He parked the vehicle in a clearly marked No Standing Anytime” spot on Elm near Orange Wednesday afternoon.

I couldn’t get over” while driving into the intersection, he said, when asked about his decision-making process. I would have caused an accident. I figured I’d just run in the bank. It’d be easy.”

He was asked if instead of pulling into the space, he could have safely continued driving until finding a legal spot.

Yes, he responded. He said in fact he should have.

Sometimes you take time for granted. I could have circled,” he said. Just patience.”
