New Haven’s Building and Construction Trades Council has endorsed Democratic candidate Justin Elicker for mayor.
“It is critical we increase our outreach efforts to recruit New Haven residents and provide them the skills they need to meet the growing need for skilled Building Trades labor in Connecticut. Justin’s support of PLAs [project labor agreements] in the City of New Haven on both public and private work will open doors for the people of New Haven to gain access to apprenticeships, not just for a job, for a career,” a release quoted union president Christopher Cozzi as saying.
Where does this put the Carpenters' Union, which had endorsed Harp in the primary? Is it switching its alignment to conform with the umbrella organization?
