Drive-By Shooting Sends Lincoln-Bassett Into Lockdown

A shooting outside Lincoln-Bassett School sent students and teachers into lockdown Wednesday morning. No one was injured, and the school was reopened just after noon.

That’s according to New Haven Public Schools spokesperson Justin Harmon.

Harmon sent out an email press release about the shooting on Wednesday.

Gunshots were fired from a passing vehicle,” he wrote. This incident occurred while students were outdoors playing at recess. The security officer and school personnel got the children inside rapidly. No one was injured.”

He said police responded immediately, and the school was reopened just after noon when police deemed it safe.
