Extra Vaccines Available At Career High

If you’re 45 years old or older and want to get vaccinated against Covid-19 on Saturday afternoon, you may be in luck.

The city has roughly 400 vaccination slots open and available at a clinic at Career High School at 140 Legion Ave.

Doses are available on a first come, first served basis — no appointment required— through 2:30 p.m. Saturday, according to city Health Director Maritza Bond.

According to separate email press releases sent out by Newhallville/Prospect Hill Alder Steve Winter and Downtown Alder Abby Roth Saturday afternoon, the doses available are Moderna vaccines.

The clinic is run by the city Health Department. Mayor Justin Elicker was vaccinated at that same site earlier on Saturday.

On Friday, per Gov. Ned Lamont’s statewide vaccine rollout plan, Connecticut residents between the ages of 45 and 54 are now eligible to make appointments to get vaccinated.

The Career High School site, at least on Saturday, does not require appointments. If you want a shot and are free before 2:30 p.m., show up and see if there are any still available.
