Firefighters were at the scenes of two single-alarm fires Monday morning.
Here’s what happened, according to Assistant Fire Chief Ralph Black:
The first fire broke out around 10:20 a.m. on Harding Place in Newhallville. It appeared that the fire broke out in a rear bedroom. Firefighters got the fire under control within five minutes. No one appeared to be hurt. Investigators were en route to the scene around 10:40 a.m.
Meanwhile firefighters were still seeking at 10:40 a.m. to get a separate single-alarm fire under control at an apartment complex on Springside Avenue. It broke out around 10:30 a.m. It may have started from drilling work. No one was hurt, and no one will be displaced, Black said. “It appears to be minor.”
