Hamden Partially Rescinds Mask Mandate

You no longer have to wear masks at any outdoor gatherings in Hamden or in any indoor public space except town facilities.

That’s because Mayor Curt Leng has rescinded Emergency Order #10, which required that mask-wearing.

Leng announced the emergency order change in a release issued Friday afternoon. He stated that he acted in consultation with the Quinnipiack Valley Health District based on data showing Hamden moving to yellow” status, indicating 5 – 9 Covid-19 cases before 100,000 status.

Hamden’s vaccination rate also grew a bit, 0.75 percent, to 68.02 percent of people of all ages during the most recent reporting period, Leng reported.

Masks are still required in town-owned buildings, including public schools, and will be required at the polls in Tuesday’s election.
