In the past week, Mayor Toni Harp has helped cut the ribbon on a new downtown apartment complex, formally open a long-awaited park off Newhallville’s Cherry Ann Street, and stepped in to seek faster progress in addressing problems at Hillhouse High School.

Among many other duties.

Harp talked about all that, and more, on her weekly Mayor Monday” appearance on WNHH radio’s Dateline New Haven.”

She fielded listeners’ calls and tweets about her role on the school board, progress at Bowen Field (a reopening event is planned for Thursday), and lighting on the Green.

Harp also issued a call for Congressional hearings into HUD’s handling, or mishandling, or conditions at Section 8‑subsidized projects like Church Street South and Antillean Manor. (Click here to read a full story about that, with the mayor’s remarks at the end.)
