Someone shot 24-year-old Tylee Bellamy to death in the Cedar Hill neighborhood Tuesday night.
Police and firefighters responded to an 8:11 p.m. 911 call about the shooting on Grace Street between Rock and State streets, according to police spokesman Capt. Anthony Duff. They found Bellamy on the scene. He was taken by ambulance to Yale New Haven Hospital, and pronounced dead there.
Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (203) 946‑6304.

My condolences to the loved ones of the deceased. We must end the cycle of violence, and my prayers that the people who knew him don't retaliate, and that the person who shot him turns themselves in. If you want to honor the lives of young people who died too soon, please help by joining anti violence groups like Ice The Beef, and donate or volunteer with groups that help young people, work on reducing violence, and that address the needs of the community.
Are there no circumstances surrounding this shooting other than randomness?
