Man Shot, Killed

Qusaan QB” McKoy died in the hospital at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday after getting shot in the West River neighborhood Monday night.

The shooting took place shortly before 9:19 p.m., police said. They found McKoy, who was 31, on near the street in front of Haven Market” near where Derby Avenue splits off from Chapel Street. He’d been shot several times, including in the head.

The victim was out on parole at the time of his death. He was wearing a parole monitoring bracelet.

Recky Sanchez was working the cash register at Haven Market when he heard the shots outside. He called 911. He went outside and saw a woman trying to help the victim. He recognized the victim as a regular customer who liked bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches.

The search for the shooter is underway,” reported police spokesman Officer David Hartman; however the perpetrator’s description and identity isn’t yet known.” Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 203 – 946-6304.
