FROM THE CITY CLERK
• The City Clerk’s office will be setting up tables outside the front entrance on SATURDAY, August 8th at 200 Orange St. from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for registered Democrats and Republicans who have not yet received an Absentee Ballot or would like to cast an Absentee Ballot.
• The Clerk strongly encourages voters to utilize the two (2) official State of Connecticut Absentee Ballot mailboxes located at both front entrances at Hall of Records building, 200 Orange St. to drop off their official Absentee Ballots.
• Masks are required and we encourage social distancing.
WE WILL KEEP POSTING ANY FURTHER UPDATES.
Yesterday I mailed off my Absentee Ballot (Democratic Primary) to the City Clerk of New Haven. One SERIOUS flaw in the mail-in process is (and I committed it) is that if you don't properly place your sealed envelop (which contains your marked ballot) in the outer mailing envelope, the address of the City Clerk will NOT appear in the window!
Many people could make this mistake as I did, and the result could be non-delivery of the ballot!! I heartily recommend that voters carefully place these envelopes together so the address shows. [I had to re-open the outer envelope to reposition the address correctly. I hope this does not invalidate my vote!]<br />I also recommend that the Secretary of State, or local Clerks, take steps for the presidential election to remove the possibility of this flaw. I'd hate for my vote not to count.
