Fatal Accident Detailed

The 31-year-old man killed on Ella Grasso Boulevard Saturday evening had stopped his car and gotten out to retrieve an object from the road when two different cars fatally struck him.

Police spokesman Capt. Anthony Duff offered that update Monday in a release.

The release also named the man who died: Anthony Little.

Little was driving on the Boulevard around 8 p.m. when he stopped his motor vehicle and exited the car to retrieve a tablet or similar electronic device which had been left on the roof of his car and had fallen onto the roadway,” Duff wrote.

He was in the middle of the road when two different drivers hit him. One driver remained on scene. The second fled after a license plate fell into the road. Cops retrieved that license plate and used it to track down that driver, who is now cooperating with the investigation,” Duff wrote.

A driver killed a 31-year-old man in a crash around Ella Grasso Boulevard and Adeline Street Saturday around 8 p.m.

The police department’s Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating. Witnesses who have not spoken to police are asked to contact the New Haven Police Department at 203 – 946-6304,” Capt. Duff wrote in a release. Callers may remain anonymous.”
