Shootout At Farnam Court

Police are investigating a flurry of gunfire in a Grand Avenue housing project.

Here’s what happened, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery:

At 5:54 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the Farnam Court housing project on reports of shots fired. Witnesses told them that two groups of people had been shooting at each other. Officers found bullets and shell casings in four different locations.

In other police news, according to Avery:

A man had his wallet stolen out of his pocket on Wednesday at 1:13 p.m. He told police a man grabbed it in front of 217 Park St., near downtown. The victim tried to hold onto his wallet and struggled with the thief, who eventually took it from him and ran west on Chapel Street.
